Lean Thought Leader To Present Leadership
Training Across Montana, Late Summer 2011
A rare opportunity for Leadership Excellence
training from one of the leading Lean thinkers in the USA, Mr.
Bill Waddell, will be offered in five cities across Montana
in late summer. The six-hour event is intended to improve business
health using simple, straight-forward principles.
The Montana Manufacturing Extension Center (MMEC), Montana
Department of Commerce Business Resource Division and Montana
Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are hosting Waddell's
appearance. As a speaker, he has addressed professional, academic
and military groups on five continents and has spoken and taught
in virtually every leading manufacturing forum in the United States.
He is considered a global supply chain expert, one of the original
Lean Accounting 'thought leaders' and is regarded as a leading expert
in lean manufacturing.
Waddell recently co-authored Simple Excellence, a book about
organizing and aligning the management team in a company for effective
Lean transformation. Ten free copies of his book will be available
to early registrants (limit two per company) at each location, courtesy
of the Montana Department of Commerce. Waddell also authored Rebirth
of American Industry, has published numerous articles, and is the
most widely read manufacturing blogger on the Internet.
Provocative and humorous, Waddell will provide
the key elements for business owners, managers and their teams to
begin creating a culture of excellence. The role of leadership and
its impact on employees will be clearly defined. Each class starts
at 9:30 a.m. and runs to 3:30 p.m., and includes lunch. The fee
is $195 for each person with discounts for teams of 4 or more.
The course will be offered on a different day in each of five Montana
cities: the first will be in Billings on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011
at the Big Sky EDA Yellowstone meeting room, 222 North 32nd Street;
next in Bozeman on Wednesday, August 31 at the MMEC conference room,
2310 University Way, Bldg 2; then in Helena on Tuesday, Sept. 6,
at the Montana Department of Commerce, 301 South Park Ave., rooms
226-228; next in Missoula on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the MonTEC meeting
room, 1121 East Broadway; and then in Kalispell on Thursday, Sept.
8 at the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce meeting room, 15 Depot Park.
