COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed for manufacturing
or operations managers and supervisors with a desire to improve
their skills and/or gain a thorough understanding of their responsibilities
for creating a more productive and profitable operation. Overall,
participants attending this course will be introduced to principles
of operations management and decision-making practices to help them
and their operations succeed.

Recognize and address the eight deadly wastes
(overproduction, waiting, transportation, over-processing, inventory,
extra motion, product defects and underutilized people). |

Distinguish between value-added and Non-Value

Get organized, set priorities and plan for
process improvement. |

Ensure that good processes are contributing
to good performance. |

Learn the 5S Method and how to apply these
good housekeeping practices that are foundational to sound operations. |

Peform process mapping (Value Stream Mapping)
to help you understand and improve operations. |

Conduct bridge meetings that can ensure
consistent processes from shift to shift. |

Use a manufacturing profit & loss statement
to measure operation progress and the effect of process improvements
on the company's bottom line. |
