COURSE INFORMATION
PREREQUISITE: None. However, participants may benefit more from this training if they have taken the Lean Manufacturing workshop & simulation.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
If you want your company to become more profitable, it's essential to create a working environment that embraces ongoing process improvement. Process improvement is a way of doing business that ensures that waste and non-value added activities will be minimized or eliminated within your operation, with positive impacts on the company's bottom line. This course will help manufacturing employees recognize the red flags that signal the existence of waste and non-value added activity within an operation. Participants will learn to assess an operation based on the 20 keys to workplace improvement.

Participants will gain definitive and straightforward methods for analyzing any process -- manufacturing, administration, management or clerical -- in order to streamline flow and increase productivity. Participants will also be introduced to effective, easy-to-apply process improvement tools such as fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis and the 5 Why's. These tools help identify the root cause of the problems and allow participants to make appropriate process improvements. Participants will be given an opportunity to actively use and apply process improvement tools as a part of class exercises.
